JMC School Holiday Experience Day (Melbourne)

Create. Explore. Get ahead. Join JMC for a high-energy day of workshops, student panels, and campus tours—plus expert guidance on turning your passion into a career.

Register for not one, but two workshops, and experience a day in the life at JMC Academy.

Please note: These workshops are targeted towards those in Years 10-12.

Workshops include:

  • Acting

An immersive masterclass that allows you to explore audition techniques. Students must bring a monologue of their choice.

  • Animation

Design a 2D character turnaround as reference for animation.

  • Design (Visual Communication and Design)

Design thinking workshop where students work in pairs on a hands-on project.

  • Music

In this Music Production session you will examine use of sampling and found sound in popular music, then record sounds in small groups to use in a collaborative track.

A songwriting and performance session where you will explore writing songs in small groups and then performing for your peers.

  • Audio Engineering

Partake in a recording project learning basic skills on microphone positioning, sound quality, engineering techniques and more.

  • Film and Television

Students are introduced to screen directing through hands-on exercises, building confidence and interest in screen storytelling.

  • Game Design

Create and explore basic techniques using Unreal Engine to look at the fundamentals of level design.

  • Musical Theatre

Explore dance techniques for audition environments. Develop your confidence and presentation for any dance calls. Students must wear appropriate attire they can move in.

  • Entertainment Business Management

Create a concept for a wild, imaginative music or arts festival. Develop a mood board for a headline artist (real or fictional) and explore themes, audience, and aesthetic.
